When a dwf/dwg file is imported into FabCreator, the program automatically sorts geometry into the CUT, ENGRAVE, and RASTER FabCreator groups using a set of rules. In most cases, this "smart sorting" works well without further changes. However, sometimes you would like to put certain geometries into specific layers and ignore the FabCreator sorting rules.

To override the default FabCreator sorting rules you can place geometry into named layers using your CAD software. The names must be exactly as written here: "CUT", "ENGRAVE", or "RASTER". Then when importing the file into FabCreator, the geometry will go into the group specified.
